I am happy to tell you that one of my short stories is included in Gathering: Writers of Williamson County, (available on my contact page). “Minnie Pearl, Price Tags and Typewriters,” is a short story about one of Nashville’s legendary comedians and how my wanderings in the deep south brought me full circle back to her humor. She was a special gift to fans of country music and the Grand Ole Opry. I interviewed her during one of my many stints as an editor, reporter and mother trying to stay in the business of writing. Gathering: Writers of Williamson County, includes celebrated author and music legend, Tom T. Hall; New York Times best selling author, Robert Hicks; noted historical authors, Madison Smartt Bell, a finalist for the National Book Award, and the PEN/Faulkner Award; and, Madison Percy Jones, whose numerous fellowships and awards include the Andrew Lytle Prize for short fiction. There are also 27 other authors you might know or might want to remember.
